Pettiskirt

So I found a couple of posts about pettiskirts on Pinterest recently. Since my niece's birthday was coming up, I decided to make one for her myself. I had a few of them as a child that my mother made for me, but did not get a full appreciation of the work that goes into making one till I made this one.

It was literally hours and hours and hours of gathering the fabric and stitching the layers together while the edges of the flimsy fabric try to fray faster than you can sew! But I am glad to say that it is finally done... and in time for the birthday! :)

I even ended up making a matching shirt and head bands to go with it. So happy..

Now only if I can get my niece to try it on and let me take a picture! Will post the pictures when I get them!
